The birds have gotten such a response that I decided to go ahead and make variations (per the suggestion). This piece is currently in progress and will probably end up mostly dark dark gray.

I cleaned my office

And I use the term "office," loosely, as this is clearly a small cardboard box.

Mine

This is the exhibition catalog for the ©Murakami exhibit at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Los Angeles. Here is a link to their site about the show. The Exhibition Tour videos are a wonderful series of scenes where Murakami stands next to several of his paintings and talks about how terrible he thinks they are.

Of all his characters, my favorite is his alter-ego, DOB – a friendly looking cartoon head that evolves over the course of several years into the little monster on the cover of the catalog. In the exhibit notes, Mika Yoshitake writes that "Murakami has referred to DOB as an erratic manifestation of the desire to consume and the ceaseless regeneration of that impulse."

After the show, I bought this book and some buttons.
